I read an interesting feed today from the Washington Post that I believe may change my life! The article by Michael J. Coren states that in as little as 4 minutes a day with tiny, regular bursts of effort like climbing stairs, that we can vastly improve our fitness level, building bone density and muscle strength in our legs. Just 9 to 10 brief periods of vigorous activity per day, just 30 to 45 seconds each, lowered the risk of dying by about 40 percent compared to non-exercisers.
So, I have made a new decision to take the stairs instead of the elevator whenever I can. I live on the 8th floor, but at least a few times a day, I have decided to take the stairs, at least for a few floors. What a simple thing to add into your life when you have to go up or down anyway! Here’s to good health!!
