Doctors, I think one of the most important things that you can do to increase productivity is to really care about your staff members. You need to treat your employees like you would want your spouse, or children to be treated at their workplaces.
Make sure to individually great each and every employee by name every morning when you start the day. Be sensitive to the problems staff members are having at home and with their family members. Make an effort to learn the names of their spouses and children.
Be careful how you criticize your employees job performance. Certainly never around patients or other staff members.
Frequently write a thank you note to each and every staff member to thank them for the great job that they are doing. Mention something special that you noticed about what they did in the office.
When staff members feel valued and cared about, they work that much harder to please your patients. That happy feeling gets passed along and patients accept more and more treatment for you to do.
